What's in My Fridge

Food inventory and expiry management web app designed to reduce waste, save money, and help users keep track of ingredients with a cleaner daily workflow.

Problem

Households often forget what ingredients are already in the fridge, which leads to duplicate purchases, expired food, and unnecessary waste. Existing habits are usually manual and fragmented, making daily kitchen management inefficient.

Action

Built a web product centered on ingredient visibility and expiry-date management. Designed account-based access with login and registration flows, and organized the experience around checking, managing, and maintaining personal food inventory in one place. Shaped the interface as a lightweight, practical consumer tool rather than a heavy inventory system.

Result

Delivered a working online product with a clear value proposition: helping users understand what is already in the fridge, manage ingredient data, and make better use of food before it expires. The project demonstrates product thinking around everyday utility, clarity, and retention-oriented workflow design.

Learnings

This project strengthened my understanding of consumer product design for small but high-frequency problems. It reinforced that good product experience often comes from simplifying daily decisions, not from adding complexity.
